Areas of application for HALEX®

HALEX® is an inorganic carrier that is coated with approx. 10% sodium. Due to a special coating process, HALEX® is able to completely convert inorganic and organic halogen compounds as well as N2O into harmless substances. The products formed, such as sodium fluoride, can partly be reused as a secondary raw material.

  • Destruction of low concentration PCBs in transformer oil
HALEX® shows its effectiveness not only with gaseous compounds. Studies have shown that organochlorine compounds such as PCBs in oil can also be destroyed by HALEX®. Another area of application with low PCB concentrations.

  • Decontamination of etching gases from semiconductor technology
HALEX® is a reagent that makes it possible to completely break down even inert gases such as CF4 or SF6. This process does not involve any combustion processes, which is why the formation of NOx gases, dioxins or other environmentally harmful compounds can be ruled out.
For example, CF4 is broken down into its components as follows:

Examples of gases to which HALEX is applicable:

CF4 - C2F6 - NF3 - SF6

CCl4 - CHF3 - N2

Drying and purification of gases

for example He - Xe - Kr

Storage:

HALEX ® must be stored protected from air ingress and moisture. It should not be stored in close proximity to highly flammable substances. If stored properly under argon, HALEX ® can be stored unopened for at least two years.

The special thing about HALEX® is:

All known halogen-containing compounds are implemented
No formation of dioxins, furans or NOx
No downstream neutralization required
No formation of exhaust gases
